Da Canvas is a section of The Bitterhoneyy Blog dedicated to art! More than often I'll display works I ran across on a daily basis or might be researching. This weeks honoree is Gustav Klimt.

Gustav Klimt (July 14, 1862 – February 6, 1918) is a Austrian Symbolist painter, who was also one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Art Nouveau movement. Quite honestly I love his paintings simply because of the colors and techinque used. I was never too good at Art History.. below are samples of some of his work.. hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

:|Mannequins Lens|: DIANE VON FURSTENBURG

What's Mannequins Lens? Well, ML is a section of my blog dedicated to the fashion industry..

This weeks ML is focused on the lovely Diane Von Furstenberg..

She's relatively to my knowledge although she's been out longer than I've been alive!

I first saw her appearance on Bravo's his reality series "Project Runway".. LOVE IT! It's an American reality show where the contestants compete with each other to create the best clothes and usually have limited amount of time along with restricted materials and theme. Their designs are judged and one or more designers are eliminated each week. The show is also hosted by the lovely Heidi Klum who is married to none other than musician Seal.



Anywho! In my fashion economics class we viewed some of the designers' Spring 2009 collection from the 2008 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.. One of the many designs that caught my eye was that of Miss Furstenberg. Her Spring 2009 collection is inspired by the 1960's era where life for many individuals was lived carefree.. & fashion of course mirrors the times, so the garments that were worn displayed bold colors, floral patterns, and rather loose fitting.. along with many embellishments..

Yes, yes.. it is true
The superstar hip hop artist Kanye West has engaged yet again to miss fabulous chick Alexis Phifer.. word is he did it over the phone while vacationing in Hawaii..

come on Mr. West.. coulda been a little bit more romantic with that..

& oh how I wish it wasn't true.. but in the end i send my congrats to the lovely couple..
Both have great style & are on top of their game so I ain't mad @ em..
only question is.. will this engagement be fluke like the last??

we'll see.. (smirk)
